Author Guidelines

Requirements to the layout of the articles published in the series  “Issues of National Literature”

The Series accepts for publication papers, previously published nowhere and not submitted to other periodicals at the same time. The authors can be instructors and employees of higher educational institutions, research institutes, postgraduate students, Masters’ students and other people involved in scholarly research.

Requirements to the Content:

UDC: must correspond to the scholarly direction of the article.

Information about the author(s): full name, position.

Affiliation: full name of the institution, address (with index).

Title (without shortenings).

Abstract: it has to be structures according to the IMRAD principle – Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, presenting the relevance, goals and objectives of a research; methods and results of the research; perspectives for further research, main conclusions. The Abstract should be at least 200 words long.

Keywords: up to 10 words/word combinations, they must be laconic, represent the main idea and specifics of the article.

The information about the authors, title, abstract and keywords are required in two languages (Russian and English.

Materials in the “Review” and “Information. Chronicle” sections are submitted without abstracts.

Structure of the article:

Introduction: Contains a statement of the question, brief review of the scholarly literature on the topic (links to sources), criticism of the disadvantages and advantages of the proposed approach A clear statement of the goal of the work is required.

The main body must be entitled, can be divided in sections basing on the content.

Conclusion: General conclusions on the substantial part are given. Avoid simply listing the material presented in the article.

References are given in alphabetical order. The references list is additionally duplicated in Latin according to the system of the USA Library of Congress (LC, website for transliteration: http://translit.ru).

For periodicals, it is necessary to indicate the author's surname, initials, the title of the article, the title of the journal, the year of publication, volume, number or issue, the starting and ending pages of the work.

Information about author(s) (in Russian and in English) on a separate list author’s (authors’) data in are given: full name, academic degree (if any), academic title (if any), work address with index (for sending a copy to the author if they are foreigners), e-mail, contact phone number (for communication with the Editorial Board).

Article volume:

  • article – 15025 pages (total volume);
  • review, information – up to 3 pages.

Article Layout Requirements

  1. MS Word editor, A4 format, portrait orientation. Page setup: margins (top – 2.0 cm, bottom – 3.0 cm, left – 2.5 cm, right – 2.5 cm); paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm; interval – 1.5; body size – 14 (with automated word shift); abstract size – 12; font – Times New Roman.
  2. Shortenings are only generally accepted (in a text and in tables). All abbreviations and acronyms must be introduced the first time they are used in the text. All tables include headings and continuous numbering within the article denoted with Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1), in a text references are given in a shortened form (Tab. 1). The text of a table should be double-spaced; tables’ content should not be the same with the article’s text. In works of biological cycle, the title and the text of the table have only Latin names of species, genus and alu-families. The comment to the table comes under the table.
  3. Formulas include continuous numeration. A number is written at the end of a line with Arabic numerals in round brackets. There should be at least 1.5 - 2 cm intervals between the formulas that are highlighted in a separate line and the text, as well as between the lines of the formulas.
  4. Illustrated material (graphs, maps, diagrams, photographs) is named as Figures, has continuous sequential numbering in Arabic numerals and is written in abbreviated form (e.g., Fig. 1). Color images (graphs, diagrams) are accepted. The size of the figure is between 40x50 mm and 120x170 mm. The figure containing indications of the dimensions of the quantities shown in the figure, is placed under the figure.
  5. References in the text are written as a number (Arabic numeral) in square brackets.
  6. Articles written in English are preferably duplicated in Russian for better peer-reviewing.

Submitting articles to the Editorial Office

Articles are accepted in electronic version by e-mail at: nationalibus_litterae@mail.ru

If the author is a postgraduate or Master's student, the supervisor's review is required.

The Editorial Office sends the received articles (without names) for peer-reviewing; reviewing period – 2 weeks.

With a positive review, manuscripts are published in the order of their receipt within 3 months.

The final decision on the publication of the article is made by the Editorial Board.

There is no fee for the publication of articles.

Articles submitted without observing the above requirements will not be considered.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
