The history of the «Şamanin Rüyasi» project: translation of the Kulakovsky’s poem “The Shaman’s Dream” into Turkish (to the 145th anniversary of Аlexei Kulakovsky (1877-1926), the founder of Yakut literature)
Abstract
Reflections on the translation of the works of the Yakut poet-thinker in Turkish culture are becoming extremely important today, according to our feelings, and, perhaps, should come to the fore for the Yakut humanities. This is facilitated by the fact that the poem “The Shaman’s Dream” (1910) by Alexey Kulakovsky, written at the beginning of the twentieth century, 110 years later, is recognized as the most complex type of Yakut poetic literature, woven from hundreds of symbols, sounds, syllables, thousands of grammatical constructions and words. The purpose of our translation was the desire to present this unique monument of Yakut alliterative poetry in the world poetic space.
