From the history of the creation of the novel « My father's life» by Reas Kulakovsky

Abstract

The relevance of the topic of the article is due to the fact that the interest in "personal  creativity" highlights the creative individuality of the author and the history of the work created by him.  Thus, in order to recreate the creative history of documentary stories and novels, it is necessary  to establish literary sources and influences. This article is devoted to the study of the creative history  of the main work of the poet, prose writer, folklorist Reas Kulakovsky story-memoirs "My father’s life".  The work has a rich creative history, which dates back to the 1960s. The first chapters of the story were  published on the pages of the Khotugu Sulus (Polar Star) magazine in 1988, issue 9, 10. The story was  published as a separate book in 1990 by the Yakutsk publishing house. The story is based on true facts  and documents about the life and work of the classic of Yakut literature, as well as on author’s own  observing and stories told by close relatives. In search of material for the book, he traveled around  the places of his father's residence in order to collect factual sources. The above mentioned allows  us to conclude about the relevance of the study of the creative history of the story "My father's life".  The purpose of the work was to determine the role of factual material and the memories of  contemporaries in creation of a story-memoir based on manuscript materials from the personal archive  of the writer. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were solved: to analyze manuscripts, letters,  memoirs from the writer's personal archive; to study the peculiarities of using the records that were made  from the words of the main character's contemporaries; to study the available material about the life and  work of the writer during the period of work on the story. The methodological basis of the study was a  system-integrated approach to the study of the phenomena of literature, adherence to the principles and  methods of particular historical analysis, and revealing of causal link in literature. The research was based  on the works of N. K. Piksanov, B. V. Tomashevsky, L. R. Kulakovskaya, P. V. Sivtseva-Maksimova,  L. N. Romanova, and others.
